About me

fotoCELAI am Irene de la Torre and I was born in Madrid in 1988. Soon afterwards my family moved to Mallorca, where I grew up and where I gained fluency in Catalan. After I studied Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands, I followed my passions and moved to Granada to study Translation and Interpreting, specializing in English and French. When I began my Erasmus grant in Ghent, Belgium, I started studying Dutch day and night and fell in love with the language and with Belgian culture. Since February 2014 I am a full-time freelance translator based in Madrid, translating many kinds of documents from Dutch, English, French and Catalan into Spanish. I love to discover a world behind each word I translate. When I am not translating, you can find me reading in one of the cozy cafés of the capital, or perhaps writing in a notebook.

I am in love with languages and my profession, that is the reason why every time I have a translation project, I always strive to deliver it with the best quality and accuracy.
