Grants and subsidies

  • Literary translator from Dutch into Spanish selected for the european project CELA (Connecting Emerging Literary Artists). CELA is a European network of collaboration between six countries (the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Spain), with the aim of bringing together writers, translators and publishers in a two-year project of residencies and performances throughout Europe. As part of the program, I was able to attend several master classes dedicated to literary translation and the publishing world in its extensive form, both in Utrecht and Pisa, with top-level professionals. In addition, I had the pleasure of performing at the Hay Festival in Segovia with the reading of one of my translations, as well as attending several literature festivals, such as the Pisa Book Festival. Apart from all the above, the CELA programme includes an extensive mentoring programme, so my translations were monitored by the mentor Goedele de Sterck, who followed up my translations thoroughly.
  • ELV (Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen). This is a centre of excellence dedicated to literary translation from and into the Dutch language, located in Utrecht, the Netherlands. I was awarded a mentorship for the translation of Lotte Lentes’ book, De jongen, het stof (Wintertuin, 2015). The mentorship consisted of guidance, teaching and revision of the translation of the book.
  • Nederlands Letterenfonds (Dutch Foundation for Literature). Grant awarded to the Spanish publishing house Lengua de Trapo for the publication of my translation from Dutch to Spanish of Lotte Lente’s book, La arena del desierto. Grant awarded to the Spanish publishing house Geoplaneta for the publication of my translation together with Beatriz Jiménez López from Dutch into Spanish of the book by Auke Kok, Johan Cruyff. Siempre al ataque.
